Suspending Disbelief
originated from the idea of the "book" functioning as a symbolic object. The journal refers to a container that captures and honors one moment in time; once written, it instantly becomes the past. What has evolved is a series of sculptural vessels that also contain and create personal narratives. These act as bodies which express themselves emotionally through color, texture and shape. They describe the world from the perspective of a child's pre-verbal sense of sight and touch. Stream of consciousness thoughts and excerpts from old journals accompany each piece, completing a collaboration of mind and body.
